Overview
This production-ready layout system was designed for distribution at trade shows to support lead generation and sales conversations. The document needed to quickly communicate core brand values: efficiency, time-saving workflows, and accessibility in a high-traffic, low-attention environment.
Objective
The goal was to translate a technical software offering into clear, “corporate-native” communication tailored to road managers and public works professionals. The tone needed to feel credible, operational, and decision-oriented rather than promotional reinforcing trust and usability for a professional audience.
Design Challenges
The main challenge was balancing dense informational content with fast readability in a print format used in trade show conditions. The audience spans different levels of familiarity with digital tools, often reviewing materials briefly while multitasking in a busy environment.
This required designing for:
-
rapid scanning vs. deep reading
-
accessibility across age and experience levels
-
clarity of feature prioritization within limited attention time
Design Decisions
The layout system was structured around two core priorities:
-
Information hierarchy for fast comprehension
Key software benefits and managerial tools were visually prioritized using a modular grid system, allowing readers to quickly identify relevant functionality without needing to read sequentially. -
Accessible, professional readability
Typography, spacing, and contrast were carefully adjusted to ensure clarity for an older professional audience and optimized legibility in print conditions.
The visual language remained fully aligned with the existing brand system, reinforcing consistency through established typography, color palette, and UI-derived elements from the style guide.
Design Approach
-
The project followed a system-first approach rather than page-based design.
-
A modular grid was developed to ensure scalability across the brochure series, supported by reusable layout components for consistency and flexibility.
-
Content was structured around user tasks instead of product features, prioritizing what managers need to accomplish over technical descriptions. Design decisions were tested against real trade show conditions, including quick scanning, high-distraction environments, and multi-document comparison.
-
Accessibility was considered through typographic scale, spacing, and contrast to ensure readability across a broad professional audience.
This approach positioned the brochure as part of a larger, adaptable communication system rather than a standalone asset.
Outcome
The brochure series contributed to increased engagement during trade shows and improved the consistency of brand communication across sales materials. It also provided the company with a reliable, production-ready template system that could be reused and adapted for future events, reducing design and production turnaround time.
Beyond immediate lead generation, the system strengthened the brand’s perceived credibility in professional, operational contexts.
